Family Doctors of Vicksburg, PC has been providing health care to the South County area since the 1910’s. Family Doctors of Vicksburg is dedicated to providing excellent, compassionate medical care. Our Laser Skin Care staff has had extensive training in Light Based skin treatments, BoTox Cosmetics, chemical peels, facials and Skin Care Cosmeceuticals, and are highly qualified to help design a skin health treatment plan that is right for your skin condition, color and lifestyle.
MEET OUR STAFF
Eric Houchin, MD
Dr. Houchin is a native of Indiana. He received his undergraduate degree from Anderson University graduating Summa Cum Laude, and his Medical Degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Houchin graduated with distinction and is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha. He is Board Certified in Family Medicine. He completed the Family Medicine residency in Grand Rapids, Michigan. After additional experience in the Navy, Dr. Houchin joined Family Doctors of Vicksburg in 1999. As a family practitioner, Dr. Houchin sees infants through adults. He is a member of the International Society of Cosmetic and Laser Surgeons and The American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery. He offers Laser and IPL demonstrations by appointment, to groups on Wednesday nights. He has received many hours of additional training in Light based services, BoTox and skin care and is certified in Laser, IPL and BoTox Cosmetics. His wife Kristi is an Adult Nurse Practitioner at Family Doctors of Vicksburg. They have three sons, Jakob, Samuel, and Benjamin.
David Schriemer, MD
Dr. Schriemer is a native of West Michigan and completed his undergraduate education at Hope College, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He received his medical degree from the University Of Michigan Medical School with Alpha Omega Alpha honors. He then completed a residency in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Virginia where he was chief resident. Dr. Schriemer came to Vicksburg in 1989. He is Board Certified in Family Medicine and sees all members of the family from infants to adults. He has had additional training and certification in BoTox cosmetics and Light based skin therapy. Dr. Schriemer's wife Paula is an anesthesiologist in Kalamazoo. The Schriemers have three children, Daniel, Clara and Anna.
Ken Franklin, MD
Dr. Franklin came to FDV in 2002 following a 25-year career in Family Medicine in the U.S. Army. Dr. Franklin is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Michigan State University and received his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. He is Board Certified in Family Medicine, having completed a residency at Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia. Dr. Franklin held patient care and leadership roles at Army hospitals around the country. He is a veteran of Operation Desert Storm, and has earned numerous awards including the Bronze Star. Dr. Franklin is board certified in Family Medicine and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. He has had additional training and certification in Light based skin therapy. His wife Terri is a native of Cassopolis. He treats children and adults of all ages. The Franklins have two sons, Matt and Jeremy.
Darla Hulse, RN
Darla graduated from Southwestern Michigan College in Dowagiac, Michigan in 1987. She worked most of her nursing career at Munising Memorial Hospital in Munising, Michigan before moving to Vicksburg in 1995. She has been at Family Doctors of Vicksburg working both as an office nurse and office manager until September of 2006 when she began providing Skin Health services. Darla received over 100 hours of web training and 70 hours of hands on training prior to providing Laser and skin care services at Family Doctors of Vicksburg Laser Skin Care. Since September of 2006 she has been providing IPL/laser skin treatments 5 days a week. She has had extensive training and experience with skin assessment and treatments including chemical peels, IPL, laser and state of the art skin care products, and continues to learn as technology and skin care advances. She is a member of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery and an Affiliate of the Skin Cancer Foundation. She offers skin health services to all ages. Her husband Casey is a native of Michigan and is a reptile breeder and incubator manufacturer. They have 3 children, Rianna, Robert and Jessica.
Our Office
We are conveniently located in downtown Vicksburg (click HERE for a map and directions). Family Doctors of Vicksburg Laser Skin Care is only a small part of our services. We offer all other aspects of medical care including Physicals for all stages of life, minor surgery, sick visits, immunizations, well baby and more. Although the Laser Skin Care Center is located inside of our medical office it has its own “Serenity” room and treatment room designed specifically for our skin care services. Sit back and relax to the sounds of nature, sample our products and read about the latest advancements in skin care.

Come in for a DEMO NIGHT. We offer demonstrations on Wednesday evenings by appointment. They are always a lot of fun!
How it works is simple. You simply call and ask to schedule a “demo night”. You will be asked how many there will be in your party and your name (you are now the Host! The Host is now eligible for referral rewards for anyone in her demo.)
The purpose of our demos is to acquaint you with IPL and Lasers, remove the apprehension of “what does it feel like” and what does this cost” in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. We allow you to choose from a number of procedures to have done, free of charge, no strings attached. We want you to be able to measure your results, compare them to your “normal”. For this reason, we do “Half” of a procedure. For example, if you want to have your underarm hair treated, we will treat one underarm, if you want wrinkles treated around your mouth, we do either the right or left side. This way you can compare your treated side to your untreated side. What you get out of this is measurable results, what we get out of this is a happy patient who may want to come back for more treatments.
